The dwarf state of San Marino is an insider tip for camping enthusiasts. It is only 61.2 km² in size and is known worldwide as one of the oldest republics. Despite its small size, many activities can be organised from the campsites. The Italian city of Rimini, with its lively atmosphere and extensive sandy beaches, can be reached by motorbike in around half an hour. Some of the San Marino campsites offer sweeping views over the Italian city and the sea. The picturesque historic centre of San Marino is home to many sights and fascinating buildings. These include the basilica in Piazza della Libertá and the Palazzo Pergami Belluzzi state museum.
