Lake Constance lies between the green Allgäu, the romantic Black Forest and idyllic Switzerland, surrounded by vast meadows and mountain landscapes. From Constance to Bregenz, there are campsites right by the water or in the beautiful countryside around the lake. Lake Constance is an ideal holiday destination for families, water sports enthusiasts and dog owners. Many campsites welcome four-legged friends and offer a few extras for dogs and their owners.

Top tips

  • Just how magnificent the region around the 4-star campsites on Lake Constance is only becomes apparent from the 1,000 metre-high Pfänder mountain in Bregenz. Take the Pfänderbahn railway up to enjoy the wonderful panoramic view of Lake Constance and the impressive peaks of many mountains in Switzerland, Vorarlberg and Liechtenstein. The mountain can be explored via circular and cycle paths with further marvellous views.
  • The gigantic Rhine Falls in Schaffhausen in Switzerland is a natural spectacle of a special kind. Over 700,000 litres of water from the Rhine, which feeds Lake Constance in Vorarlberg, thunder down 23 metres every second. The Rhine Falls are one of the three largest waterfalls in Europe and are a highlight at a 4-star campsite on Lake Constance.

Activities and excursions

There are many leisure activities on offer at the 4-star campsite on Lake Constance - whether culture and nature experiences, long bike tours or hikes through the charming countryside. An excursion on the lake or by boat on the water provides unforgettable moments in nature.

Beautiful cycle tours from Constance to Bregenz

From the 4-star campsite on Lake Constance, an extensive network of hiking and cycling trails leads through the region. The individual routes are signposted and invite you to enjoy relaxed family routes or sporty mountain rides. Suitable bikes can be hired on site. On a day tour or a trip over several stages, cyclists can discover the beautiful landscape around Lake Constance with its vineyards, castles, museums and pretty harbour towns. The pile-dwelling museum in Unteruhldingen is well worth a visit. Here, camping holidaymakers on Lake Constance follow in the footsteps of the Stone Age and marvel at the reconstructed wooden houses standing on stilts in the water. The Stone Age trail next door vividly illustrates the history of this place.

Sailing against a marvellous mountain backdrop

Lake Constance is perfect for boating enthusiasts, as it offers the best conditions for adventure and relaxation on the water. Sailors and kayakers feel at home here. You can moor your own boat at many campsites. If you don't own a boat, you can hire one from the local providers.

A trip to the beautiful island of Mainau

Many routes lead to the famous flower island of Mainau by bike, car or Lake Constance boats. The island with its floral themed events is a natural paradise and a popular excursion destination for flower lovers from all over the world. A highlight of the island is the butterfly house with tropical vegetation and waterfalls.
