Natur Camping Usedom
Right on the picturesque cliffs of Krumminer Wiek Bay, Natur Camping Usedom on the Gnitz peninsula promises a relaxing family holiday away from the hustle and bustle of the Baltic Sea. With three adve… Campsite profile page

The relaxed attitude to life on the scenic Baltic Sea island of Usedom combined with the independence of camping are ideal conditions for spending a varied holiday with your beloved four-legged friend. A view of the starry sky or a little campfire romance on the campsite crown an eventful day by the sea, in the unspoilt forests or at one of the island's sociable events.

Destinations

Whether between the Baltic Sea and the Achterwasser in Stubbenfelde near Loddin, which, like Lütow, Ückeritz and Koserow, is one of the amber spas, or in the imperial resort of Zinnowitz: the sunny island of Usedom has numerous well-equipped campsites. Mostly nestled in idyllic pine and deciduous forests, the campsites along the Baltic Sea coast invite you to enjoy entertaining children's activities, forest walks, bike rides and water fun on the fine sandy dog beaches. Among the many campsites on the popular Baltic Sea island, Dünencamp Karlshagen offers all the advantages of a 5-star campsite. Located in the north of Usedom and nestled in a cosy pine forest directly on the Baltic Sea beach, the campsite has modern, child-friendly and barrier-free bathrooms. On the dog beach, the four-legged friends hunt for a ball or a stick in the waters that have been awarded the Blue Flag for excellent water quality.

As a particularly dog-friendly campsite on Usedom, the unspoilt Pommernland campsite behind the dune forest and on the sandy beach puts its heart and soul into its four-legged friends. Although dogs are subject to certain rules here too, they are welcome everywhere. In the restaurant, they can find a quiet spot with their companion and are offered water. Picturesque dunes and a pine forest give the Ostseeblick nature campsite in Trassenheide a special flair, which is accompanied by birdsong, the sound of the sea and the spicy scent of the forest. The 4-star campsite offers comfortable sanitary facilities. A shop and small catering facilities cater for your physical well-being. Dogs will find plenty of exercise on the dog beach and in the surrounding woods.

Top tips

  • Usedom is the perfect place for anyone who enjoys fine, white sandy beaches and clean water together with their four-legged friend. No fewer than 10 dog beaches ensure exuberant fun on the beach and in the sea. Dogs can also have fun digging, running and splashing around on a lead.
  • Hiking and cycling enthusiasts have around 150 fantastic cycle paths to choose from when camping with their dog on Usedom. Even the flood plain, which has hard sand in many places, can be travelled on by bike. Suitable bikes can be hired at many different locations, some of them at the campsites themselves.
  • Usedom loves to party and has a packed calendar of events all year round. Visits to entertaining harbour and pier festivals with colourful supporting programmes, Neptune baptisms, spectacular fireworks and delicious treats are also attractive when accompanied by dogs.

Activities and excursions

In addition to exploring the naturally beautiful coastal regions and the amber spas, it is also worth visiting interesting exhibitions. Whether in miniature worlds, at technical sights, relaxing in the Baltic Sea thermal baths or taking a detour to Wolgast Zoo: Usedom has something for everyone.

Admire butterflies and exotic plants

At the butterfly farm in Trassenheide, more than 2,500 exotic butterflies from around 60 species cavort in a colourful plant world of orchids and hibiscus. In addition to the delicate butterflies, parrots, giant tortoises, tarantulas and other exotic creatures can also be seen here.

The world of rockets and flying objects

Once a military site and involved in the development of rockets, Peenemünde documents rockets, aeroplanes, helicopters and a replica of the legendary V2 in its Historical-Technical Museum. A Soviet submarine and a naval ship from the former GDR also attract interested visitors. In addition to exciting details about aviation, space travel is also the subject of the exhibition, which is also known as the Rocket Museum.

Physical phenomena come to life

The Phänomenta Peenemünde is all about experiencing science. The interactive exhibition encourages visitors to try things out, touch things and gain experience. Anyone who has ever wanted to take a 3D flight, touch a plasma disc or create 16.3 million combinations from three colours will find a wide range of experiments here.

Follow in the footsteps of the Gründerzeit

The imperial spas of Ahlbeck, Heringsdorf and Bansin can be easily reached with your dog from any of the campsites. The charm of the spa architecture with its delicate decorations, turrets and balconies on the whitewashed houses blends with the picturesque piers to create a typical coastal landscape. The 12 km long, cross-border promenade leads into the heart of the friendly Polish seaside resort of Swinoujscie.

Events

From sporting events and musical events to entertaining harbour and kite festivals, Usedom offers plenty of variety when camping with your dog.
