At the summit, one of the cleanest bodies of water in Switzerland lies at their feet. Water sports enthusiasts take advantage of the extensive range of activities on offer and let off steam with surfing, canoeing or water skiing. Families can refresh themselves in the cool water at the lidos. Those taking their four-legged friends camping on Lake Brienz or Lake Thun will find well-maintained dog beaches. It is important to book well in advance for the high season, as pitches in the shade or on the lakeside bay are very popular with campers.

Holidaymakers stay in a particularly central location at the campsites on Lake Brienz near Interlaken. The town is picturesquely situated between Lakes Thun and Brienz and offers a variety of leisure activities with its art centre and casino. June to August are recommended as the best time for a beach holiday. This is when the air warms up to a maximum average of 24 degrees Celsius.
