Discover the natural wonders of the Ardèche

The southern French holiday region is famous for the picturesque Ardèche Gorge, among other things. In 1980, the 30-kilometre-long narrow valley between Vallon-Pont-d'Arc and Saint-Martin-d'Ardèche was declared a nature reserve. It takes less than half an hour to drive from the Yelloh! Village Aluna Vacances to the starting point for a 5 km hike to the "Montagne de Sable", a sand mountain. From the car park, you walk along the course of the river past waterfalls and caves to the beach of the "Montagne de Sable". A canoe trip on the river to the natural wonder Pont dArc, a stone arch over the Ardèche, is also worthwhile. In the Chauvet Cave near Vallon-Pont-d'Arc, museum visitors can admire replicas of the impressive carvings and cave paintings found in the neighbouring cave.
