The centre of the historic town extends around the sheltered harbour of Sibenik, which is easily accessible from the Beach Resort Solaris. In the western part of the municipality, visitors are greeted by a labyrinth of narrow streets and passageways leading to churches, monasteries and palaces. One of the most famous buildings in the city centre is the Cathedral of St. James, which took over 100 years to build. Šibenik's location on a narrow strait along the River Krka is also unique. Sibenik is also the gateway to the Krka National Park, the centrepiece of which are the seven paradisiacal waterfalls in the middle of dense deciduous forests.
