At Camping am Kapellenweg, those seeking peace and quiet and active guests spend a carefree holiday in the Swiss mountains. The campsite is located just outside the romantic mountain village of Saas-Grund in the Swiss canton of Valais.
When you look out of your tent or campervan in the morning, you breathe in the aromatic mountain air. Camping am Kapellenweg is located at around 1,600 metres above sea level and is surrounded by many mountains over 4,000 metres high, such as the Stecknadelhorn, the Dom and the Nadelhorn. The "Trail of the 18 four-thousand-metre peaks" provides an exciting insight into the mountain world. The themed trail starts at the mountain station of the Hohsaas mountain railway. The majestic peaks are depicted in sculptures along the 1.2 kilometre circular trail. The information boards provide a wealth of information. The name of Camping am Kapellenweg refers to the pilgrims' path that leads directly past the campsite. There are 15 charming chapels along the route. The destination, the pilgrimage church Maria zur Hohen Stiege, can be reached after a 45-minute walk. Inside you can see many works of art such as the high altar, which was probably created around 1700 by an Italian sculptor.
The SaastalCard is included in the price of the pitch at Camping am Kapellenweg. This allows holidaymakers to benefit from many discounts at leisure facilities. The free use of many mountain railways is also included. A family atmosphere awaits you at the 0.7-hectare campsite. If you have any questions, please contact the dedicated team at reception. The pitches are located on an undulating lawn. The Saaservispa stream babbles nearby. A small kiosk provides guests with everyday camping essentials. It takes around 15 minutes to walk to the centre of Saas Grund, which is known for its narrow streets and romantic houses. You will find shopping facilities in the town centre. If you are interested in the local flora, plan a hike along the Alpine flower promenade. On the almost 10-kilometre-long trail, you will discover a total of 270 alpine flowers, including edelweiss and gentian. Back at the campsite, you will have the opportunity to meet other guests in the lounge. Cosy TV evenings take place here. Holidaymakers like to use the Internet Corner to find out about excursion destinations or to send holiday greetings to friends at home.
