At the Camping Sandaya Amis de la Plage campsite on the enchanting Île de Ré off the French Atlantic coast, visitors can enjoy a dream holiday. The fine sandy beach of Le pas des boeufs is just a stone's throw away. Here you can stroll, bask in the sun or ride the waves.
Camping Sandaya Amis de la Plage is located between the fine white sand of the beaches and the dense pine forests of the Île de Ré. The Île de Ré is located off the west coast of France, the nearest town on the mainland is La Rochelle. The campsite grounds, which are partly covered in conifers, merge into gentle dunes towards the coast. Visitors can book a pitch or rental accommodation. The pitches have an electricity connection, while the various rental accommodations all have a kitchen and a bathroom. The kilometre-long sandy beach on the south coast of the island is just a few metres away. Here guests can enjoy the sun, play beach volleyball or surf. Sports courses are also on offer. You can hire a bike from the campsite's own bike hire centre and explore the whole island. There is also plenty of swimming fun on the campsite: the palm-fringed pool invites you to linger. There is a paddling pool for the little ones and they can also let off steam in the playground. You can satisfy your hunger at short notice in the snack bar; the nearest restaurant is 1 km away.
The campsite is the ideal starting point for long hikes and cycle tours across the Île de Ré. A network of cycle paths covering more than 100 kilometres criss-crosses the island. The nearest municipality is Le Bois-Plage-en-Ré with its beautiful beaches. Visitors are drawn to the daily market in the island's largest market hall. Ars-en-Ré awaits visitors in the west. With its picturesque harbour and salt marshes, the coastal village gives the impression that time has stood still here. The Phare des Baleines rises in the far west of the island. The 57 metre high lighthouse is a popular photo motif and can be explored on a guided tour. The beaches are perfect for activities such as surfing, stand-up paddling and water skiing. Not far from Camping Sandaya Amis de la Plage is an equestrian centre, which is particularly popular with young campers. If you are looking for a beach holiday away from the daily hustle and bustle, camping Sandaya Les Amis de la Plage on the Île de Ré off the French Atlantic coast is just the place for you. With its beautiful rental accommodation, well-equipped pitches and wide range of facilities, the campsite caters for all tastes.
