Camping Arquin is located in the romantic Adige Valley, between tranquil rural surroundings and the urban centre of Lana. The family-friendly campsite at the foot of the local mountain Vigiljoch is the starting point for families, nature lovers and hikers who like to spend their holiday in South Tyrol with their own four-legged friends, who are very welcome at the campsite. Visitors to Lana are offered a wide range of leisure and cultural activities in South Tyrol's largest apple-growing community.
Camping Arquin is hidden among the deciduous trees and fruit trees of the orchards that surround the centre of Lana on a flat meadow. Spreading trees provide plenty of shade on the plots, some of which are gravelled and separated by hedges. Around 120 of these pitches for campers and caravans are spread across the site, making Camping Arquin a smaller and exclusive campsite in the Adige Valley. Dogs are allowed on the site, which is mainly visited by nature lovers and hikers. If you want to work on your handicap during your holiday in South Tyrol, you can visit the nearby golf course in Lana. Even if the weather in the Italian Alps doesn't play ball, the campsite's heated swimming pool invites you to spend some relaxing hours. A very special wellness centre, the Merano Thermal Baths, is located nearby. Other amenities at Camping Arquin in the Adige Valley include the small grocery shop, where guests can conveniently buy all the ingredients for a delicious meal where they can cook the Mediterranean delicacies of South Tyrol in their own caravan. At the German-speaking reception, the knowledgeable local staff are happy to help visitors plan excursions and hikes or even a trip on the cable car to the Vigiljoch.
The castles and palaces surrounding the fertile Adige Valley and Camping Arquin bear witness to the region's eventful and rich past. Leonburg Castle, for example, which was built at the beginning of the 13th century, towers high above the valley floor. Visitors climb up through orchards to the old walls. The landmark of the municipality of Lana, however, is Braunsberg Castle. A legend tells of the misfortune of the lady of the castle, Jutta. If you follow the Waalweg trail, you will pass the romantic St Margareth chapel. From here, the panorama of the Etschtal valley floor is breathtaking. Holidaymakers interested in the tradition and history of fruit growing around Lana can find out all there is to know at the South Tyrolean Fruit Museum and Farmers' Museum in Völlan.
