Beautifully located and dog-friendly spot
Well-located campsite for excursions and bike tours. Very clean and stylish sanitary facilities, wellness good and sufficient. The lady at the reception could have been a bit friendlier upon arrival! For many guests, the Brunnen campsite is a second home and one of the most beautiful places in Bavaria - not least because of its picturesque location directly on Lake Forggensee with a direct view of the fairytale Neuschwanstein Castle. The many leisure activities for children and teenagers, the extensive wellness facilities right on site and the proximity to great winter sports areas also make Camping Brunnen a favourite spot for active and adventurous camping holidaymakers.
Located in the centre of Schwangau on the edge of the Ammergau Alps and directly on the shores of the idyllic Forggensee, the Brunnen campsite welcomes its guests. The six-hectare site, nestled in the beautiful natural surroundings of the Königswinkel, offers over 300 spacious pitches with electricity and connections for fresh water and waste water. All pitches are separated from each other by hedges and trees and offer plenty of privacy. The pitches on the lakeshore with a direct view of Neuschwanstein are particularly popular. The modern sanitary facilities on the site have underfloor heating, individual wash cubicles and bathrooms for hire. There is also a baby changing room, children's bathroom, dog bath and dog showers. In the Brunnenstüberl restaurant, holidaymakers can look forward to regional and international dishes while feasting in a rustic ambience. The well-stocked self-service market offers fresh bread rolls, camping accessories and everyday necessities. WLAN is available free of charge throughout the campsite.
A stay at the Brunnen campsite is an unforgettable experience, especially for younger visitors. Children's and leisure entertainment is offered in the high season. There is also a large adventure playground, beach volleyball courts, table tennis tables and a football pitch. If the weather takes a turn for the worse, the fun doesn't stop - then it's off to the indoor play area with ball pool and other play options. Meanwhile, parents can relax in the wellness centre with two saunas, steam bath, Kneipp pool, whirlpool and relaxation room.
The Allgäu is a great place to spend time in the fresh air and there is plenty to discover around the Brunnen campsite. Just a few kilometres from the campsite is the fairytale castle of Neuschwanstein, one of the most famous castles in the world. No less worth seeing is the neighbouring Hohen Schwangau Castle. In the nearby Pöllat Gorge, the Marienbrücke bridge offers one of the best views of Neuschwanstein. The pretty little town of Füssen is also worth a visit and is easily accessible by bike or on a sporty hike. The landmark of the town, which has a population of around 15,600, is the High Castle, which towers over the old town and is an impressive example of medieval architecture. Part of the castle serves as a branch of the Bavarian State Gallery. There is also plenty on offer for winter campers: The valley station of the Schwangau-Tegelberg ski resort is located just 4 km south of the holiday home and offers alpine sports enthusiasts 7 km of downhill pistes and cross-country skiing fans a total of 20 km of groomed trails.
