On the left bank of the lake, Duingt Castle stands on a small island in front of the municipality of Duingt and is connected to the mainland by a causeway. Also worth seeing is Menthon on the right bank of the lake, which is overlooked by a fairytale castle. The highlight is of course Annecy, the capital of the region and a popular excursion destination. The "Venice of the Alps" impresses with its beautiful sights and its proximity to nature. The medieval Château d'Annecy sits enthroned on a hill in the centre of the town.
