Camping in a high valley with a natural reservoir and surrounded by a bizarre limestone landscape - guests can experience all this at the Lac des Brenets campsite.
The Lac des Brenets campsite is located in the high valley of La Brévine and surrounded by the Doubs river. In this idyllic region, the river forms an elongated reservoir, the Lac des Brenets, on whose surface the spruce trees on the back of the surrounding mountains are beautifully reflected. Locals and holidaymakers alike love the circular walk, which takes an average of 75 minutes. Camping at Lac des Brenets is possible on spacious grassy terraces with hedges and deciduous trees as natural boundaries. The family-friendly campsite allows outdoor barbecues and offers campers a central campfire area. A snack bar, café-restaurant, supermarket and bread roll service are also available, as is comprehensive Wi-Fi coverage. Dogs are also welcome guests.
Children will love the campsite because of its exciting adventure playground. Camping Lac des Brenets is characterised by permanent campers, some of whom have known each other for years but are open to new contacts. The storybook idyll is clearly the star of the Lac des Brenets campsite. The natural reservoir, which is around 4 kilometres long, marks the border between Switzerland and France. The folded mountains with their striking Wettertannen pile up directly on the shores. The bizarrely shaped limestone cliffs constantly reveal new dramatic views. Many geese live in the area and clearly feel at home on the mountain slopes. Botanical highlights are the chequerboard flowers, whose blossoms are decorated with a chequerboard pattern. Other highlights include the magnificent Saut du Doubs waterfall and the enchanted moorland along the meandering course of the river. The Alps and Lake Biel, with its monastery island and adjoining vineyard, are attractive distant destinations. The Cluniac monastery was built in 1127 and is now a popular restaurant. The winding course of the river has occasionally created scenic gems reminiscent of wildly romantic headlands by the sea. Boat hire and marinas are plentiful on the banks. Table tennis is available at the campsite and tennis is only 300 metres away. If you like, you can hire a boat from the campsite's own hire centre and take a short trip on the Lac des Brenets.
