Gastronomic offers
The picturesque location on the French island makes Camping Le Suroit a popular destination for beach holidaymakers and sun lovers. Campers enjoy a relaxing stay and can also look forward to a number of additional services.
Camping Le Suroit is just a few metres from the Atlantic coast and is only separated from the bathing fun by a gate. Guests can quickly reach the unspoilt beaches and dunes, which are overgrown with typical grasses and plants. In the warm summer months, the deep blue waters of the ocean are ideal for swimming, while between spring and autumn the conditions are perfect for sailing and kitesurfing. As an alternative to the open Atlantic Ocean, the campsite also offers an outdoor pool, which is heated in the transitional seasons. It is partially covered and can therefore also be used in cooler temperatures, while the slides and paddling pool on the site are popular with children and babies.
Palm trees add a tropical flair to the grounds of Camping Le Suroit, which has numerous pitches. These are all parcelled out. In addition to the spacious pitches, holidaymakers can rent various mobile homes that offer enough space for several people. In general, there is a relaxed atmosphere on the site, with regular music events in the summertime inviting holidaymakers to party until midnight. The nearest larger municipality is Saint-Georges-d'Olèron in the centre of the island, a good 5 km away. There is a camping shop there, while a supermarket and a restaurant are located directly at Camping Le Suroit. Dogs are welcome at the campsite all year round and can be cleaned up in the dog shower after swimming in the Atlantic or playing on the coast. The campsite has its own sanitary facilities for children, an open-air playground and various leisure programmes. The sanitary facilities are all well-maintained and also accessible for wheelchair users. Fast Wi-Fi and a number of washing machines and tumble dryers are also available at Camping Le Suroit. Those planning excursions in the surrounding area can visit the Gataudière castle in Marennes or Fort Louvois in Bourcefranc. Visits to the distilleries of Cognac, which are a little further away, are also popular.
