Camping Le Ventadour close to nature directly on the Ardèche

Halfway between Lyon and Montpellier in the south of France, around 1 km from the historic town of Meyras, Camping Le Ventadour invites you to enjoy an eventful holiday. The 130 pitches are located on a well-kept 5-hectare site. Some of them are shaded by mighty trees. If you don't want to bring your own caravan, you can rent one of the 15 well-equipped mobile homes with two or three bedrooms. Dogs are very welcome at the campsite, which is run by a pair of twins. The amenities also include a cosy restaurant, which serves salads, meat dishes and pizza from June to August. Guests can also enjoy an ice cream coup here. In the evening, it's best to relax with a glass of Merlot or Sauvignon on the terrace. Oven-fresh bread rolls for breakfast are available at reception. The most popular meeting place at Le Ventadour campsite during the warmer months is the banks of the Ardèche. The sandy private beach is a great place to splash around. Two natural pools in the river, separated by a waterfall, are ideal for swimming. There is also a playground for the youngest guests. Older guests enjoy the volleyball court, the two table tennis tables and the boules area. In summer, holidaymakers get to know each other during the entertainment and take part in karaoke and music evenings.

Excursions around the campsite

A stroll through the centre of Meyras, just 1 km from Camping Le Ventadour, takes guests back to the Middle Ages. The historic centre is criss-crossed by narrow, cobbled streets. Among other things, the Romanesque church of Saint Etienne with its impressive 12th century bell tower is a reminder of days gone by. The mighty Ventadour Castle towers high above the town on a 70 metre high rocky spur. During the summer, the remains of the once imposing complex are open to visitors. The Monts d'Ardèche Nature Park is a unique hiking paradise just 7 km from Camping Le Ventadour. Families can take a trip to the adventure course in Vals-les-Bains. Courage and skill are required on obstacles high above the treetops.
