The campsite has direct access to one of the most beautiful beaches in the region as well as the small harbour. The campsite is also particularly child- and dog-friendly and has its own swimming pool. This makes Camping Surchauffant the perfect place for a relaxing beach holiday with the whole family. At the same time, the campsite is just a short distance from the Haut-Jura Nature Park, which covers almost 180,000 hectares and is famous for its idyllic forest landscapes. This is considered a true paradise for hikers, which is why active holidaymakers also get their money's worth here.

Despite the lively atmosphere, camping guests enjoy plenty of peace and privacy on the spacious pitches. Boat trips on a historic paddle steamer on the River Ain, which depart directly from the neighbouring harbour, are particularly popular. Camping Surchauffant is also an ideal starting point for hikes in and around the Haut-Jura Nature Park. One of the most beautiful excursion destinations is the Lac de Vouglans reservoir, a good 6 kilometres away. At 30 kilometres long and up to 100 metres deep, it is the third largest reservoir in France. But even a leisurely stroll along the banks of the river offers wonderful views of the colourful spectacle between the lush green hills and the blue tones of the water. After an eventful day, the campsite's own restaurant provides refreshments.
