The coast of Cavallino Treporti stretches for 15 kilometres and is surrounded by the Adriatic Sea and the waters of the lagoon. The long, golden sandy beach merges into dunes and pine forests, gardens and a fascinating lagoon landscape. Between salt marshes, mudflats and canals, holidaymakers enjoy exploring the region by bike or on short hikes. From here, you can make out the outline of the impressive lagoon city of Venice on the horizon. The city's landmark, St Mark's Basilica with its Byzantine mosaics, is located in the centre of St Mark's Square. Almost exclusively canals, including the Grand Canal with its Renaissance and Gothic palaces, run through the narrow rows of houses built on over 100 small islands.
