Around 2.5 kilometres from Ons Buiten, the wide sandy beach is an Eldorado for swimmers. The shore, where families love to splash around, flies the Blue Flag due to the excellent water quality. A visit to the nearby centre of Oostkapelle is also worthwhile: holidaymakers can enjoy a magnificent view of the wet polders from the tower of the village church. Nature lovers can enjoy long walks and cycle tours through the De Manteling nature reserve. Well-signposted routes take you over dunes and through cool forests. The exciting Terra Maris Museum is another attraction in the holiday resort. The exhibition provides information about the flora and fauna of the province of Zeeland, which is characterised by the sea. After the tour, visitors can relax on a walk through the park, where rare kingfishers live.
