The Ankergrund campsite is located in the Franconian wine-growing region of the Bavarian district of Kitzingen on the Mainschleife. Its flat meadow area on the banks of the river offers generously sized pitches and is broken up by trees. The view is of the Main, the surrounding vineyards and the Maria im Weingarten pilgrimage church. The nearest public transport stop is 300 metres away. The centre of the historic town of Volkach is 500m away. Among the sights of the administrative community of the same name are the ensembles of Volkach's old town, the centre of Eschendorf and the central Blütenstraße in Fahr. In addition to sacred buildings worth seeing, the municipality of Volkach is also home to eight castles and palaces, which are well worth a visit.
