GoodClose to the city and at the same time close to nature, the Kassel camping & motorhome site is in an outstanding location directly on the River Fulda in the south of the documenta city.
In the immediate neighbourhood, the Karlsaue state park and the extensive Fulda floodplains are ideal for cycling tours and long walks. The centre of Kassel is just 3 km away on foot through the park. The pitches at the campsite are spread over a well-kept meadow area. A few shady hedges and trees separate the pitches from each other. The nearest tram stop is 1 km from the site and offers a direct connection to the city centre.

The Kassel campsite is located in northern Hesse directly on the picturesque floodplain of the Fulda, next to the Karlsaue state park and the grounds of the Federal Garden Show. This is the perfect place for anyone looking to relax, go for long walks or swim in the Bugasee lake. Dog lovers are also welcome to bring their pets along.
Kassel campsite is located near the river on the outskirts of Kassel, surrounded by picturesque nature and the marvellous Orangerie Palace. The "Karlsaue" state park, the "Auestadion" sports park, the Bugasee leisure area and the Kassel trade fair centre are in the immediate vicinity. The city centre with its numerous shops, shopping centres, museums and cinemas is also just 3 km away.
The spacious site on the banks of the Fulda consists of elongated meadows with some tall deciduous trees and has parcelled out pitches for caravans in 2 size categories (Economy, Comfort) including electricity connection (CEE, 16 A). There is a separate caravan site in front of the barrier, which is open all year round. There is also a tent pitch and a small open area for additional caravans.
A major advantage is the excellent transport links to the A49 motorway and public transport. Guests can also easily get around by bike on the predominantly flat terrain. The site facilities include a mini shop with bread roll and coffee service, several well-kept sanitary facilities and WLAN around the reception. The atmosphere is quiet and cosy. Thanks to the friendly and helpful staff, travellers feel they are in good hands here.
The wide range of activities in the neighbouring river landscape and excursions to the Documenta city provide variety. For example, the Kassel campsite is ideal for anyone who would like to go on a tour in a rowing boat or canoe and explore the riverside landscape.
An excursion to the idyllic Karlsaue with its extensive palace park and the Swan and Flower Island is also worthwhile. Birdwatchers will get their money's worth in the Waldauer Kiesteiche nature reserve, while cyclists can take a leisurely tour along the Fulda cycle path R1 between the source of the Fulda at the Wasserkuppe and the mouth of the Fulda-Werra in Hann.
Kassel itself is of course also worth a visit. In addition to numerous shopping opportunities, the many museums in the Documenta city, such as the GRIMMWELT, are a delight. Also worth seeing in Kassel are the numerous outdoor documenta works such as the "Spitzhacke" or the "Himmelstürmer", which can be found throughout the cityscape. Thanks to a well-developed public transport network, campers can also easily reach more distant destinations such as Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe or Lake Edersee by bus or train.
