The quietly situated North Sea campsite Schillig is in a prime location directly behind the North Sea coast. Here you will find a green coastline typical of Friesland. The kilometre-long dyke path invites you to take long bike rides. A special feature of Schillig is its extensive sandy beach, which is directly adjacent to the campsite. Wide meadows and marshland in the hinterland also make you want to go on long cycle tours. The pitches are spread over a large meadow area. The small town centre of Schillig is in the direct vicinity of the campsite. As a special feature, there is a small, on-site beach library at the North Sea Campsite Schillig.

Campsite of the tourist office. Long stretched terrain on two levels in the front dike area. Low deciduous trees and bush groups on the higher part of the site, the lower area is divided by ditches. Separate area for guests with dogs. Characterized by permanent campers.

Beautiful place
The place is very large. The plots in section 4 are sufficiently spacious. A special adapter is needed for the fresh water connection. Gardena connections do not fit. Grey water disposal is not possible at the plot. For this, the place must be left. That's annoying! The sanitary facilities we used w… More

Sanitary facilities very old & dirty
The pitches are well maintained but unfortunately do not have water connections or waste water at the site as described. Very narrow lanes, pitches close together and no boundaries. Great place - Beautiful location
Very nice place directly at the North Sea. Friendly staff. Bakery right on site. Sanitary facilities are outdated and need to be renewed as soon as possible. Many permanent campers, but without the classic prejudice. Very friendly.

If the sanitary facilities weren't there...
The price would be almost justified by the beautiful beach and playground. However, one should really invest in the shower houses and sanitary facilities and make the access for tourists charged, or create their own sanitary facilities for the campsite. Also, the camping spots are very small.

The North Sea within reach
Thanks to its ideal location directly on the North Sea coast, holidaymakers wake up in the morning with a view of the sea. The beach adjacent to the campsite offers the opportunity to swim or relax, while the beach library provides bookworms with new reading material. Adventurous water sports enthusiasts can hire equipment for water skiing, kitesurfing or stand-up paddling on site and make the sea unsafe. Courses are also offered for these water sports. A special attraction is the beach chair sauna, where two people can enjoy the sauna experience with a sea view. There are indoor and outdoor playgrounds for young campers. The campsite has pitches for campers with dogs as well as designated areas where four-legged friends can run around off the lead. There is also a separate beach area for dogs.

The dyke behind the campsite is ideal for long bike rides - either on your own or as part of a guided bike tour. Bicycles can be hired at the campsite. In addition to idyllic nature, Wangerland also offers attractive villages: just a few minutes away from Schillig is the beautiful Horumersiel with its marina. Another excursion destination is Hooksiel, a historic village with one of the last functioning sieve works. The old harbour of Hooksiel is a popular location for traditional harbour festivals. A wide range of activities are on offer throughout Wangerland: There is beach yoga, mudflat walks and workshops on a wide variety of topics - so there is something for everyone, young and old alike.
