The campsite, which is surrounded by oleander bushes and pine trees, has a small stretch of coastline on the Mediterranean that invites you to sunbathe and relax. The extremely child-friendly site is popular with families, couples and holidaymakers with dogs.
Camping La Masseria is located in the very south of Italy on the country's boot heel. The site is just under 30 kilometres from the city of Lecce and is located directly on the Ionian Sea. The nearest larger town is Gallipoli, which is around 3 km away and offers a number of cultural attractions. The most famous are the cathedral, which was built in the early 17th century, and the medieval castle. The Centro Vacanze La Masseria has a total of 350 pitches for holidaymakers, 250 of which are parcelled out. There are also 56 rental accommodations on a total area of 20 hectares, making the site one of the largest in the region. The campsite is equipped with an outdoor pool and a whirlpool, which are welcome alternatives to the Mediterranean, especially in the evenings or for families with small children. The site also has a small supermarket, a snack bar, a restaurant, washing machines and facilities for drying washed clothes. For sporty campers, there is a wide range of leisure activities, with tennis, beach volleyball and cycling tours being particularly popular. There is a relaxed and sociable atmosphere at the campsite, which allows holidaymakers to quickly make contact with other guests.
The beach along Camping La Masseria has a bathing jetty and is ideal for swimming and various water sports, such as windsurfing and kitesurfing. The numerous other sights in Puglia provide a change from beach life. The cultural highlights in nearby Gallipoli include the Fontana Greca monument and the Basilica di Sant'Agata. A day trip to Lecce is also an option for campers who would like to go on excursions through the Italian south by car. Here, visitors will find a number of historic Baroque buildings that make wonderful photo opportunities. The Basilica di Santa Croce, the cathedral of Lecce and the ancient amphitheatre, which was built by the ancient Romans and still stands today, are particularly well-known.
