The Auvergne is also known as the ''land of volcanoes'' and is a true natural paradise for hikers. Huttopia Royat is located directly at the foot of the Puy de Dôme volcano, which is over 1,400 metres high. Hiking trails and a cog railway lead up to the top. There is a small museum at the summit. On a clear day, you can see around 100 other active volcanoes from here.
