In the middle of the densely wooded low mountain range landscape of the Hochsauerland, the KNAUS Campingpark Hennesee impresses with its idyllic location above the Hennesee lake. With its own heated indoor pool, great water sports facilities and a wide range of leisure activities, the natural campsite in Meschede is ideal for families with children.
The Sauerland region in the east of North Rhine-Westphalia is also known as the land of 1,000 mountains. One of its natural gems is the Hennesee to the south of the town of Meschede. On its eastern side, the family-friendly KNAUS Campingpark Hennesee is the perfect starting point for hikes and cycle tours through the region. There are 181 pitches for motorhomes and caravans on a terraced hillside site, which are divided by hedges and rows of trees, some of which are high. Some pitches offer a beautiful view of the wooded heights of the Hochsauerland. KNAUS Campingpark Hennesee also has a variety of rental accommodation on the 13-hectare site. These include mobile homes, bungalows and tipi tents. WLAN is available, as are modern sanitary facilities and family hire bathrooms. The campsite's own shop sells camping items and everyday necessities, including freshly baked goods and selected regional delicacies. The bread roll service and the campsite restaurant with its cosy atmosphere and outdoor terrace also cater for your physical well-being. There are also various barbecue areas for cosy get-togethers. Dogs are welcome at the holiday resort.
Thanks to its close proximity to Lake Hennesee, water fun is a top priority at KNAUS Campingpark Hennesee. The waters close to the town have several beaches, and the camping park has its own bathing area including a swimming island and sunbathing lawn. Stand-up paddling, surfing, sailing and kayaking are also popular leisure activities. The Hennesee is also a great spot for anglers, with trout, perch, carp and pike. If you like, you can take a guided tour of the Henne Dam and walk up the 333 steps of the stairway to heaven directly up to the dam. For a unique perspective of the lake and the surrounding natural landscape, take a trip on a passenger boat. Regardless of the weather, the heated indoor pool at KNAUS Campingpark Hennesee provides plenty of fun in and around the water. For the little ones there is a children's playground, the climbing pirate ship Flotte Henne and a colourful entertainment programme. Not forgetting the campsite's own petting zoo with goats and bike and pram hire. Torchlight hikes and themed evenings provide additional variety. Sports enthusiasts will discover outdoor fitness equipment, a slackline, a boules area and courts for ball sports such as beach volleyball and football at the camping park. In winter, tobogganing, cross-country skiing and adventures on the slopes in the Hochsauerland ski areas are on the programme. The site's own saunas provide pure wellness bliss at any time of year.
Its unique location above the Hennesee lake makes the KNAUS Campingpark Hennesee in Hochsauerland ideal for those seeking relaxation and active holidaymakers alike. In addition to a large indoor pool, families with children can look forward to a wealth of water sports activities and age-appropriate leisure options that will keep them entertained in the midst of beautiful nature.
