KNAUS Campingpark Burgen/ Mosel

The campsite is located between the river and the road directly on the banks of the Moselle, around 1 km outside the centre of Burgen. The state-recognised resort town at the mouth of the Baybach stream into the Moselle exudes rustic flair with its little streets lined with slate-roofed houses. Grapes for fine, fruity Rieslings thrive all around. You can savour them in rustic inns and wine taverns, as well as at Burgen's wine festivals. The KNAUS Campingpark Burgen/ Mosel also caters for your physical well-being. In addition to cooking facilities and barbecue facilities, the site offers a restaurant including a beer garden and a panoramic sun terrace. With a view of the river and the surrounding countryside, a glass of fine wine tastes even better. You can even spend the night in real wine barrels at the campsite. There is also a long, flat meadow area with 120 pitches for caravans and motorhomes on the 4-hectare site, some of which are right on the banks of the Moselle. A real highlight of the KNAUS Campingpark Mosel/Burgen is its own harbour with moorings for boats and yachts, nicknamed Marina Laguna. Above the harbour, Bischofstein Castle sits enthroned on a rocky spur and watches over the valley and the river, which is one of the busiest waterways in Europe. Boat hire is available 8 km from the camping park. If you don't want to charter a boat, you can board an excursion boat in Burgen and sail to Cochem. The Moselle is also an ideal spot for fishing, canoeing and stand-up paddling. Back at the camping park, a solar-heated outdoor pool near the river invites you to swim and splash around. There is also a dog meadow for dogs to run around with their beloved four-legged friends as well as opportunities to play table tennis and beach volleyball. A sandy playground with swings, slide and seesaw awaits children. The KNAUS Campingpark Burgen/ Mosel is also the perfect starting point for immersing yourself in the natural beauty of the Moselle landscape on hiking trails and cycle routes. The castles and fortresses in the region are fairytale-like, including the impressive Eltz Castle and the enchanting Bürresheim Castle.
