Colourful sailing boats do their laps on the water, canoeists paddle along the shore and guests enjoy the glorious sunshine on the beach or on the restaurant terrace: in an idyllic location in the north-east of the Netherlands, RCN Holiday Park de Potten invites holidaymakers to enjoy a relaxing yet active time. The dog and family-friendly concept is just as impressive as the natural design.
Surrounded by greenery and the Sneekermeer lake, RCN Holiday Park de Potten is a particularly popular holiday destination for water sports enthusiasts. If you don't yet have any experience with wind and sailing, you can take part in one of the courses on site. The campsite's own marina has sailing and motor boats available for hire. Campers can also explore the waterways by canoe and SUP. But it's not just water lovers who get their money's worth here. The leisure facilities on land are also impressive and include a sports ground with a tennis court, table tennis tables, a basketball and football pitch, a mini golf course and a beach volleyball court. The large children's playground with pirate ship and trampoline is within sight of the restaurant. Parents can watch the little ones play while enjoying coffee and cake. The popular, dog-friendly holiday village extends over 35 hectares. The 256 parcelled-out pitches measure between 100 and 150 square metres and all have an electricity connection. The restaurant with its inviting terrace is an ideal meeting place to share camping experiences with like-minded people over a snack. Fresh bread rolls are available at reception in the morning, subject to booking the day before. There is also a small kiosk at RCN Ferienpark de Potten with a selection of groceries and everyday accessories.
Guests at RCN Holiday Park de Potten enjoy a trip to Sneek, just 7 km away. As in many other Dutch towns, canals criss-cross the municipality of almost 34,000 inhabitants. Boats are moored along the quay walls, giving the town a maritime flair. Anyone interested can find out about the history of seafaring at the Fries Scheepvaart Museum, which also has an exhibition area for children. Guests can marvel at the world in miniature at the Modelspoor Museum Sneek, the city's model railway museum. A photo of the Water Gate, Sneek's landmark, is sure to be snapped. The building with its two towers was erected on a bridge in the early 17th century.
