In the middle of the green Dordogne valley, nestled between dense forests and dreamy villages, the Slow Village Saint-Cybranet welcomes peace-seeking camping holidaymakers who enjoy taking time out in nature with the family. Located on the crystal-clear Céou River and equipped with an outdoor pool, the child- and dog-friendly holiday resort promises water fun for young and old.
The Slow Village Saint-Cybranet is located in the historic Périgord region in south-west France, which is not only known for its picturesque river and mountain landscapes, but also for its towns and castles built on steep cliffs. The accommodation is quietly located on a quiet country road about 600 metres from the tranquil village of Saint-Cybranet, where there is a restaurant, an organic grocery shop and a petrol station. Those looking for a refreshing dip in the cool water will be delighted by the clean Céou, which flows through the unspoilt camping site. For even more swimming fun, there are three outdoor pools, the children's pool and the large swimming pool, all of which are heated. If the kids want to run around in the dry in between, there is a playground and a football pitch. The extensive camping village covers around eight hectares and has 207 parcelled-out pitches. Visitors can park their caravans comfortably on the differently sized pitches, some of which are separated by hedges, on flat, well-tended grassland. There is a choice of shady pitches in the woods and on the riverbank as well as sunny areas. The attractive sanitary facilities offer hot showers and facilities for small children and babies. Guests can either wash their clothes by hand in the laundry sinks or use the coin-operated washing machines and tumble dryers. Every morning, a local baker brings fresh baguettes, croissants and other delicacies to Slow Village Saint-Cybranet.
The numerous caves hidden in the mountains and rocks of the Dordogne promise a special family adventure around the Slow Village Saint-Cybranet. Around 40 km north of the holiday village, the Stone Age cave of Lascaux is a delight with its ancient wall paintings of horses, deer, buffalo and big cats, which are estimated to date back to between 36,000 and 19,000 BC. Deep inside the earth in the Grotte Gouffre de Proumeyssac, on the other hand, visitors can expect bizarre rock formations, stalactites as sharp as daggers and terraced pools of water. Active holidaymakers can hire kayaks in the nearby towns of Carsac-Aillac and Groléjac and paddle along the wide Dordogne River beneath steep cliffs topped by imposing fortresses such as the Castelnaud hilltop castle.
