With its spectacular wild coastline and many fine sandy beaches, the Quiberon peninsula in southern Brittany is particularly popular with beach holidaymakers. But camping in Quiberon offers visitors more than just sea air and sunbathing. There are numerous megalithic sites along the coast, cycle paths criss-cross the island and active holidaymakers can enjoy hiking and water sports. Camping with the whole family is also easy here: there are numerous events for children in the summer months.
The campsites in Quiberon are mainly located on the east coast and are ideal for a trip to the sea. As well as sunbathing, you can go sailing, catamaran sailing, surfing and stand-up paddleboarding here. Popular beaches include the Grande Plage near the town, the Fort Neuf beach with a wonderful view of the Bay of Quiberon and the Aérodrome beach, which also has a skate park. The beaches have a lifeguard service, toilets and showers.
Families with children will also love the Neptilude swimming pool. There are paddling pools, sports pools, a spa with sauna and the opportunity to take part in courses and games. If you want to explore the surrounding area, you can hire a bike or motorbike. An excursion to Turpault Castle is worthwhile for nature lovers, who can drive along the 8-kilometre-long west coast from there and admire the landscape.

Great 4-star campsite on the southern tip of Quiberon and just 10 metres from the beach. In addition to pitches for motorhomes, campers can also stay in well-kept mobile homes. The campsite has a restaurant, a children's playground and a swimming pool with water slides. Children's entertainment and an entertainment programme are offered in high season.
A simple but pretty campsite in the countryside about 1 km from the centre of Quiberon with direct access to the beach. All pitches have electricity and water and are located in the semi-shade. There is a separate service area for motorhomes and pets are allowed.
Comfortable family campsite with heated indoor swimming pool and just a stone's throw from Goviro beach. Wellness fans will be delighted by the nearby thalassotherapy centre. The route to Brittany varies depending on where you start in Germany. Campers from northern Germany are best off travelling via the Netherlands, Belgium and then Normandy. If you start in Frankfurt or Munich, the route leads via Metz, Paris and then Le Mans.
The route to Quiberon in France first leads via Rennes and from there to the department of Morbihan. Quiberon is located on a peninsula in the south of the province and can be reached via the D768.
Tip: Brittany is the only large region in France where there are no tolls. However, the route with the motorhome first leads through areas where you have to pay tolls for using the motorways.
The wild coast of the Côte Sauvage is located on the western side of the peninsula, which faces the Atlantic Ocean. The landscape is characterised by impressive rock formations, cliffs, grottos and reefs and offers an impressive panorama at any time of year. A road with several car parks runs along the coast. The Pointe du Percho viewpoint offers a fantastic view over the entire coast. In good weather, you can also see the islands of Groix and Belle-Ile from there.
Belle-Île, the beautiful island, is the largest island in Brittany and is known for its colourful harbour towns and spectacular, rugged cliffs. Belle-Île is located just south of Quiberon and is perfect for a day trip or even an extension of your camping holiday. The car ferry to Belle-Île departs from the harbour of Quiberon-Port Maria. The journey takes around half an hour and ends in Le Palais, the main town on Belle Ile.
The small town of Carnac with its world-famous rows of stones is also easily accessible as part of a day trip from Quiberon. The mysterious menhirs stretch for around 4 kilometres, with the Kermario complex to the east of the town being particularly popular. Entry is free from October to March, otherwise you have to pay for a guided tour. There are car parks at the Ménec and Kermario complexes.
The lively seaside resort of Quiberon is a tourist stronghold and is not only known for its large beach. A stroll through the town is also perfect for gourmets, who can indulge in fish and seafood in the numerous restaurants. Tip: Be sure to try the niniches - this praline speciality is a culinary speciality of the peninsula.
Quiberon offers numerous beautiful cycle paths and coastal paths. One of the most beautiful tours runs along the rocky Atlantic coast for around 7 kilometres from Beg en aud in the north of the peninsula to the small town of Quiberon. Hikers pass the impressive Pointe du Percho with the mighty rock gate Arche du Port Blanc. There are also numerous megaliths scattered across the peninsula, for example at the megalithic sites of Kerbourgnec not far from Saint-Pierre-Quiberon.
Quiberon is also ideal for water sports enthusiasts. Due to the constant sea breeze on the Atlantic coast, the area offers the best conditions for all water sports that require wind, such as sailing, surfing or kitesurfing. Beach fishing, sea kayaking and boat trips are also possible. A number of water sports schools offer courses and tours.
Camping in Quiberon is particularly worthwhile in the summer months of July, August and September. The maximum temperature here is 20°C and there are up to 7 hours of sunshine per day. The water temperature rises to 16°C in August. Rainfall is limited to 8-10 days per month.
The months of May, June and October are also suitable for hiking, cycling and sailing, with maximum temperatures of 15-18°C and rainfall on a maximum of 11-13 days per month. In contrast, late autumn, winter and spring are rainy with up to 18 days per month in January. Temperatures are generally mild, reaching a low of 4°C in January.
