Camping Calvados
Het boomgaardgebied Pays d'Auge in het oosten vormt de bakermat van de cider en de calvados. The landing of the warships in 1944 took place on the beaches of Calvados. Museums and burial sites recall the bloody invasion. Nu telt de strandenrijke kust vele campings in de Calvados. Next to it is the capital Caen, with a beautiful Romanesque cathedral. Further north are the classic bathing resort of Deauville and the picturesque harbour of Honfleur, overlooking the spectacular Pont de Normandie over the wide Seine. The 'tapisserie van Bayeux', het geborduurde wandkleed, is wereldberoemd en zeker een bezoek waard vanaf een camping in de Calvados.
