Paris is the city of love, art and sport and, for many, the most romantic city in the world. The vibrant metropolis on the Seine inspires with its world-famous sights, cafés and many beautiful parks and squares to stroll around and enjoy. But Paris is also a city that can be easily explored from the campsite. In camping-loving France, the capital also has the right offer for camping holidays in the heart of nature.
In expensive Paris, camping is a real alternative to staying in a hotel for cost reasons alone. Even if the pitch rents are often in the higher price segment. But pitching a tent or caravan on one of the city campsites or parking your motorhome is also a pleasant alternative to the hustle and bustle of the city. The ADAC recommends 17 campsites in and around the city. All of them also have mobile homes for travellers without their own vehicle. Most of the pitches are supplied with electricity and a waste disposal station and waste water connection are rarely far away.
Urban camping in Paris also means being in the best starting point for sightseeing. For example, close to Versailles at 'Huttopia Camping Versailles'. In general, the campsites are mainly located in the south and east of the city. Most of them are well connected to Paris by public transport. For those who want to visit the city but are not planning a pure city holiday, the campsites further out around Paris are the first choice. For example, on the Marne, where boat trips are possible right on the doorstep, or at the 'Camping International de Jablin', located in a large park by the lake, where water sports and a city trip can be ideally combined.
The Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Sacré Coeur and Nôtre Dame are just some of the most famous sights in Paris. There are world-famous attractions on every corner. The Louvre with its entrance under an elegant glass pyramid. The Centre Pompidou, not particularly attractive from the outside, which conceals the Museum of Modern Art behind its rugged façade, or the Musée d'Orsay in a historic, high-ceilinged station concourse. In the centre of the city, the 71 m wide Champs-Elysée boulevard between Place de la Concorde and Place Charles de Gaulle invites you to shop, stop for a bite to eat or simply stroll along. Montmartre with its small shops and alleyways is just as attractive as the Jardin du Luxembourg or Jardin de Tuilleries. Paris is a vibrant and lively metropolis. The unbroken enthusiasm of holidaymakers from all over the world can also be seen in the long queues in front of the biggest attractions. For some museums and sights, these can be avoided by booking in advance. As everywhere in France, the way to the capital is through the stomach. This is especially true for those with a sweet tooth, who are spoilt with countless varieties of chocolate from a number of chocolatiers.
