Alternatively, the beautiful weather can be used to visit the cultural treasures in the old town centre. Afterwards, pizza, pasta and creamy ice cream provide refreshment when camping with children in the province of Ancona.

Special features of camping in Senigallia

The campsites in Senigallia are located near the Adriatic Sea with its sandy and pebble beaches. Families and sporty holidaymakers in particular are drawn to the Italian town, around 30 km from Ancona. Well-kept parks, a variety of water sports activities and a large children's programme are on offer. Campers in Senigallia can also take part in numerous events such as concerts and the corn maze.

Anyone interested in the town's past can quickly reach the sights and museums from the campsites, which provide a good overview. There are restaurants and cafés in the popular holiday resort, so self-caterers can also enjoy a leisurely meal.

How to get there

The town of Senigallia is located on the A14 (Autostrada Adriatica), the second longest motorway in Italy, and starts in Bologna. Although it is subject to tolls, it is often the quickest way to get to the holiday resort. The distance from Hamburg is around 1,500 kilometres, from Frankfurt am Main around 1,100 kilometres and from Munich around 740 kilometres.

From Germany, the most popular routes are either via Basel, Lucerne, Lugano and Milan or Innsbruck, Bolzano and Verona to Bologna. From there, it is around 188 km to the destination on the A14 motorway. Anyone travelling via Austria with a motorhome weighing over 3.5 tonnes should remember to carry a Go-Box in their vehicle.

The motorways from Germany to Italy are particularly popular during the holiday season, which is why there are often traffic jams. It is advisable to take regular breaks when travelling to and from the motorway, both in high and low season. A modern motorway service area with clean sanitary facilities, caravan parking spaces, a restaurant and petrol station can be found at the Brenner Pass, for example.
