Hike in the national park in the morning, swim in the Adriatic Sea at lunchtime and round off the day with a delicious pizza and a glass of wine in the old town centre of Termoli in the evening: The southern Italian region of Molise is diverse and impresses with its relaxed atmosphere and Mediterranean charm. Here, every holidaymaker gets their money's worth when camping by the sea.
The majority of campsites in Molise are located directly on the Adriatic Sea. Here you can spend relaxing days on the beach and the sea offers holidaymakers a welcome refreshment in between. Those who like to be active can enjoy water sports or explore the many hiking and cycling trails in the region. The Abruzzo National Park is a popular destination for hiking enthusiasts. Thanks to the varied landscape, there is a suitable route for every fitness level. But the towns should not be forgotten when camping in the Molise region: In the picturesque towns of Campobasso, Isernia or Venafro, culture and history enthusiasts will find museums, Roman ruins and well-preserved old towns on their daily programme.
Camping in Molise is generally possible all year round. The best time to travel depends on the plans and preferences of the traveller. However, the months of autumn and spring are recommended, as holidaymakers can take advantage of everything the region has to offer: Swimming in the Adriatic Sea is still possible in late autumn, as water temperatures only drop below 20 degrees Celsius from November onwards. Furthermore, with milder temperatures of up to 25 degrees Celsius, these months are ideal for extensive cycling and hiking tours as well as excursions to the surrounding towns. In the summer months, when temperatures often reach over 30 degrees Celsius, it is mainly beach holidaymakers who are drawn to the southern Italian Adriatic.
