Together with the mild Mediterranean climate, this makes for one of the best places in Italy for cycling, hiking, climbing or simply relaxing.
The ideal starting point for enjoying the lake and hinterland are the campsites recommended by the ADAC, all of which offer a high standard and are ideal for travellers with motorhomes or mobile homes. As is usual in Italy, there is an entertainment team and children's entertainment for the kids. Meanwhile, parents can relax with a neck massage in the wellness area or keep in shape in the fitness centre. The large pool areas with children's pools and water games ensure fun in the water.
One of the most popular types of holiday on Lake Garda is camping. That's why almost all campsites in Lazise also offer the option of camping. Guests with their own tent can spend the night on the tent pitches. Tents can also be hired on site at the best campsites in Lazise.

Most campsites on Lake Garda are located in the south of the lake between the towns of Garda and Sirmione, close to the popular amusement parks. As a rule, the pitches are for tents, mobile homes or bungalows and offer all the amenities you could wish for on a successful camping holiday.
At most campsites in or near Lazise, it is no problem to take a dog with you. In addition to the usual EU entry regulations, holidaymakers should find out about the respective rules on the site, such as the obligation to keep dogs on a lead. Many campsites allow dogs on standard pitches, but sometimes not in mobile homes or bungalows.
The public beaches in Lazise are accessible to dogs, but they must be kept on a lead and are not allowed in the water. The largest dog beach on Lake Garda is located in Peschiera, south of Lazise. The "Spiaggia di Bracco Baldo" in Peschiera offers shady spots for dogs, dog showers and even special loungers for dogs.
The small town of Lazise has a number of attractions and is definitely worth a visit. The town wall, crowned with swallow-tailed battlements, is not only a wonderful photo motif - it is also very charming to stroll through the narrow, winding alleyways and across the small squares of the car-free old town.
Of course, you can also simply listen to the waves lapping against the shore at the pretty harbour and enjoy the Italian way of life over a glass of wine or a cappuccino. The well-preserved medieval townscape bears witness to an eventful past and the importance that Lazise once had. During the Venetian era, the small town was the most important trading centre in the region.
One of the best sights is located directly in the old town centre: the "Dogana Veneta". The old customs station at the harbour was built by the Venetians in the 16th century as an arsenal to defend the Serenissima on Lake Garda against Milan. Today, the imposing building with its open loggia serves as a stylish setting for exhibitions and cultural events. Also worth a visit is the Romanesque church of San Nicolò with its beautiful 14th century frescoes. Unfortunately, the Scaliger castle in the park is not open to the public, but is still a beautiful sight.
The area around Lazise offers many opportunities for an eventful camping holiday. Active holidaymakers will find the perfect area for water sports, cycling tours and hiking. A highlight for families are the famous amusement parks, which are among the best in Italy.
Campers with families and children particularly enjoy visiting Lazise because of its proximity to the numerous amusement parks. The best known and most extensive of these is "Gardaland". This is Italy's largest amusement park, which is modelled on Disneyland. Gardaland is open from March to September and is great fun for the whole family and fans of fantasy worlds and rollercoasters.
In addition to Gardaland, there are several other alternatives between Lazise and Peschiera. The "Canevaworld" adventure swimming pool, which has its own water park, the "Aquaparadise", is very popular with camping holidaymakers. Here you can let off steam on slides, diving platforms and in dozens of swimming pools. Also worth a visit are the "Movieland Filmstudios", the "Parco Natura Viva" nature park and the "Villa di Cedri" thermal baths.
Guests can hire surfboards, pedalos or canoes at many campsites in Lazise. Lake Garda is the ideal starting point for enjoying all kinds of water sports. The regular Lake Garda winds are somewhat less pronounced here than in the north. Nevertheless, they provide a good base for sailors, surfers, kiters and, more recently, for foil surfing. If there's a lull in the wind, that's no problem either: you can explore the wide basin of southern Lake Garda by stand-up paddling. The mirror-smooth lake also offers ideal conditions for waterskiing and wakeboarding.
Holidaymakers don't necessarily have to follow the call of the water to get active. The Lungolago, a ten-kilometre lakeside promenade, runs directly along the shores of Lake Garda from Lazise via Bardolino to Garda - perfect for long walks, Nordic walking, cycling and skating. A little north of Lazise is the 2000 metre high Monte Baldo, the most popular hiking area on Lake Garda. It is very popular to take the cable car from Malcesine up to the summit and then take a leisurely hike down.
The steep rock faces of the surrounding mountains make Lake Garda a favourite spot for climbers. In the northern part in particular, there are a number of via ferratas and secured routes that even beginners can tackle. The most popular route is the beginner-friendly Via Ferrata Fausto Susatti, which leads to the summit of Cima Capi and offers unique views of Lake Garda.

There are around 40 wineries with vineyards along the wine route. Most of them can be visited and, of course, the winegrowers offer tastings and sales of their products.
Incidentally, the Strada del Vino can be explored not only by car but also by bike. Back in Lazise, the weekly market is already waiting. Every Wednesday from 7 am to 2 pm, traders set up their colourful market stalls right by the harbour and in the old town.
