North Brabant has an exciting mix of dense mixed forests, wetlands and heathland. When travelling through the region, you can visit one of the quaint villages and learn more about the cultural history of North Brabant in towns such as Breda. The region is ideal for camping for horse riders and recreational camping with children.
Special features of camping in North Brabant
Away from the well-known coastal resorts of the Netherlands, North Brabant offers a wonderful retreat where you can enjoy nature in peace and quiet. In De Biesbosch, for example, a trip through the picturesque wetlands is well worthwhile. There are also vast heathlands for horse riding and cycling tours. North Brabant also offers several wooded areas for hiking tours.
From one of the campsites in North Brabant, it's worth taking a trip with the family to De Efteling theme park. The park provides plenty of entertainment with a number of fairytale worlds and rollercoasters. The park has a total of 36 attractions. The Mastbos forest is a beautiful nature reserve just a few kilometres from Breda.
Best time to visit
The campsites in North Brabant usually open for holidaymakers between April and October. In spring, the temperatures are still relatively cool at between 13 and 17 degrees Celsius. Dressed warmly, you can go on an exciting cycle tour or hike across the vast heathlands. From June to September, temperatures rise significantly. In midsummer, visitors can expect temperatures of up to 23 degrees Celsius. The months of June and September are characterised by an average of 17 degrees Celsius during the day. October is also suitable for active leisure activities in the fresh air in North Brabant, with temperatures of around 15 degrees Celsius and comparatively little rain.
