Parque de Campismo São Miguel
Parque de Campismo São Miguel

Sunset by the Atlantic, a long-distance hiking trail, Portuguese coastal villages with white façades and two well-known nature reserves - camping in the Beja district is full of experiences in the mountains and by the sea. Holidaymakers here enjoy relaxing days in a picturesque landscape, which they can discover on hikes and bike tours or on the water.

Special features of camping in the Beja district

Many campsites in the Beja district are located close to the Atlantic coast and offer a relaxed atmosphere and high standards of cleanliness and facilities. An absolute highlight in the district is the Southwest Alentejo and Costa Vicentina Nature Park - steep coastlines, turquoise waters, vast fields and secluded beaches.

The Rota Vicentina long-distance hiking trail runs along the coast and allows visitors to experience the natural park in all its beauty. There are also many villages along the coast that invite you to take a break and savour Portuguese delicacies. The campsites inland are also located in a unique natural setting and old paths in historic towns take holidaymakers on a journey back in time.

Best time to visit

When camping in the district of Beja, we recommend the milder months from February to May and October and November. Holidaymakers can then expect ideal conditions to explore the Portuguese province with temperatures of up to 22 degrees Celsius. In spring, nature also comes to life and the Southwest Alentejo and Costa Vicentina Nature Park and the Guadiana Valley Nature Park unfold their full splendour and put on a unique display of colour!

The summer months from June to September are perfect for a beach holiday on the Portuguese Atlantic coast. With guaranteed sunshine, beautiful beaches and pleasant water temperatures of around 20 degrees Celsius, camping by the sea in the district of Beja means pure relaxation!
