The Balearic Islands, which belong to Spain, make holidaymakers' hearts beat faster with their beautiful landscapes and crystal-clear water. Families with children as well as couples will find numerous sites here that are ideal for guests with a preference for camping by the sea. Island camping means pure freedom, especially for caravanners and motorhome drivers.
The Balearic archipelago is located in the Mediterranean Sea, just off the east coast of Spain. The largest of the islands is probably the best known: Mallorca. It is associated with picturesque beaches, heavenly cuisine and mountainous landscapes that are a paradise for active holidaymakers. The party island of Ibiza also enjoys international fame, but also offers quiet corners and bays away from the lively neighbourhoods. Other islands that are well worth a visit are Menorca, Formentera and Cabrera. The campsites on the Balearic Islands are mainly located on the coast and are therefore perfect for beach holidaymakers and sun worshippers. However, those who prefer to camp in the mountains will also find some beautiful places locally.
The best time to go camping in the Balearic Islands is generally from April to October. During this time, temperatures are pleasant and holidaymakers can expect an average of ten to eleven hours of sunshine a day. In addition, there is almost no rain during these months. In the summer months, the average water temperature is around 23 degrees, offering good conditions for anyone who enjoys splashing around in the sea. Due to the European summer holidays, the Balearic Islands are very popular in July and August. However, if you are planning a hiking or sightseeing holiday, we also recommend travelling in spring or autumn.
