Most of them are located around the deep blue Lake Sarnen.

The temperate climate when camping in the canton of Obwalden ensures warm summer months with balmy evenings and a relatively cool winter season. Humid days with relatively high rainfall are also not uncommon.
The ideal time to visit the region is between May and September. Most people travel to the canton during the high season, i.e. during the European summer holidays in July and August. Visitors can expect temperatures of a pleasant 25 degrees Celsius.
Those travelling in spring and autumn can expect a maximum of 16 degrees Celsius. Active campers in particular plan their holidays during these months and appreciate the pleasant daytime temperatures, which are very welcome on extended cycling and hiking tours.
