The beautiful view of the Zugspitze and the gently babbling brook are two reasons alone for a holiday at the Biberhof holiday centre. Surrounded by wide meadows in lush summer green and forests, all guests immediately feel at home. The horse boarding in the nearby horse farm and the immediate start to the surrounding hiking area are good reasons for a longer stay at the Biberhof holiday centre.

Travelling to Ehrwald

Travelling to Ehrwald for camping saves you the Austrian motorway toll sticker. The holiday destination in the heart of the Tyrolean mountains is only around 10 km from the German border and can be reached via a country road. From Berlin, it is around 700 km to Ehrwald. From the Berlin city motorway 115, head south past Potsdam to the A10. Only around 10 km further on, the Potsdam junction is reached, from where the A9 motorway turns off in a southerly direction. There are numerous rest stops on the 530 km long north-south route through Germany. For example, around 300 kilometres after the exit in Berlin is the Frankenwald bridge rest stop on the border between Thuringia and Bavaria. Nuremberg, which is about halfway along the route, is a good place for a longer break. There are also places to stay overnight near the motorway here. The A9 motorway ends in Munich, from here it is another 112 km to Ehrwald. Thanks to the A95 motorway, you can quickly continue to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. From the popular holiday resort, the Bundesstraße 23 leads to the Griesen border crossing. From here, it is only a few minutes' drive to the campsites in Ehrwald.

The most beautiful holiday destinations in Ehrwald

With its high mountain peaks, idyllic alpine pastures and blue mountain lakes, the Zugspitz Arena is an attractive holiday destination all year round. The little river Loisach babbles through Ehrwald, while the Lermooser Moos in the Ehrwalder Becken nature reserve is right next door. Ehrwalder Alm

The Ehrwalder Alm is easily accessible from Ehrwald via the Almbahn cable car and is attractive at any time of year. In summer, hikers and mountain bikers can explore the magnificent mountain landscape between the Wetterstein mountains and the Mieminger Kette on routes of varying difficulty. In winter, the Alm becomes a skiing paradise and offers 27.5 km of perfectly groomed pistes and modern lifts.

Summer toboggan run in Biberwier

The longest summer toboggan run in Tyrol in Biberwier promises fun and action for the whole family. The rapid descent takes you through 40 bends over 1300 metres and even passes through a tunnel. The toboggan run starts at an altitude of almost 1200 metres at the middle station of the Marienbergbahn cable car in Biberwier. From there, it climbs almost 200 metres through a magnificent landscape to the valley station.

Bichlbach sports and leisure park

The Bichlbach sports and leisure park offers plenty of variety on over 6000 square metres. The Bichlbach bathing lake is the perfect place to cool off in summer or relax on the sunbathing lawn. On the children's rafting course, you can go through narrow water channels on a tyre. The mini golf course, the climbing forest and the children's adventure park are also popular.

Zugspitze

At 2,962 metres, the Zugspitze is the highest mountain in Germany. Fortunately, you don't have to scramble all the way up. From Ehrwald, the Tiroler Zugspitzbahn railway takes you directly to the summit in modern gondolas. A trip to the Zugspitze is of course a must during a camping holiday in Ehrwald. The views are spectacular and extend far into the Inntal valley and to the shimmering green Eibsee lake near Garmisch-Partenkirchen. On a clear day, you can even see the television tower in Munich from up here.

Best time to go camping in Ehrwald

Ehrwald is ideal for camping at any time of year, depending on what you want to do. From April to September, the weather is perfect for hiking and excursions with six to seven hours of sunshine a day. If you want to refresh yourself in one of the surrounding bathing lakes, it is best to travel from June to August. This is when the maximum average temperatures rise to 25 degrees Celsius. The months of December to February are perfect for a skiing holiday, with temperatures below 0 degrees Celsius and fantastic snow conditions.

At an altitude of around 1,000 metres, the climate in Ehrwald is temperate all year round. However, it is worth taking a rain jacket and umbrella with you on your camping holiday, as the weather can change quickly and precipitation can be expected at any time of year.

There are 27.4 kilometres of perfectly groomed slopes to choose from, in all levels of difficulty. In the Ehrwalder Alm snow park, ambitious skiers can show off their skills on numerous obstacles. The area, which is certified as family-friendly, also boasts a unique family park where the youngest can try their hand at small jumps and jumps. The Schneeburg adventure playground with slides and an unusual snowball wall is also popular with guests with children.

Gastronomy

The restaurants in Ehrwald spoil you with typical regional fare: the traditional Tyrolean Gröstl, a dish made from potatoes, onions and leftover roast meat, tastes delicious.
