Camping De Vliedberg is located on the sunny island of Schouwen-Duiveland in Zeeland. In the immediate neighbourhood is the beautiful, over 27 km long sandy beach "De Brouwersdam" - one of the most famous surf spots in the Netherlands and a paradise for water sports enthusiasts. The holiday park is perfect for a family holiday with beach, sun and lots of sea, but also for active holidaymakers. There are some beautiful nature reserves in the immediate vicinity of the island - perfect for beach walks, trips to the mudflats or long bike rides.
Molecaten Park Nordduinen in Katwijk aan Zee is just a few metres from the beach. The dune campsite is in a wonderful location between green dunes and offers pitches on a terraced site with fantastic views of the sea. You can also rent holiday flats with verandas and the cosy "dune cottages". There are many leisure activities for families, an outdoor and indoor pool and a children's playground on a pirate ship. Nearby is the famous Keukenhof, which is a veritable sea of flowers in spring.
Camping on the North Sea beach is offered by the Den Osse campsite on the Grevelingmeer. There are pitches for caravans and motorhomes on the site. If you are travelling to Holland without your own motorhome, you can also stay in the well-equipped mobile homes or in the rustic log cabins. The site has a heated outdoor pool with its own children's pool. There are also playgrounds, tennis courts, a bakery and several fishing ponds where you can go fishing. There is a supermarket near the campsite for camping supplies and small errands. The Dutch North Sea coast is over 450 kilometres long and stretches from the North Sea island of Texel in the north to Zeeland in the south of the Netherlands. Accordingly, there are many camping opportunities along the Dutch coast. One particularly popular region is Zeeland, which offers wonderful long beaches and lots of hours of sunshine. In South and North Holland, you can visit traditional cities such as Amsterdam, The Hague and Rotterdam in addition to your beach holiday. And the Dutch North Sea islands are particularly suitable for mudflat walks and beach hikes. The facilities at the campsites on the Dutch North Sea coast are excellent, as the Netherlands is a true camping nation. In addition to regular pitches for caravans and tents in various sizes, you will also find rental accommodation such as holiday homes, bungalows or mobile homes at most holiday resorts. Many campsites also offer seasonal pitches and their own motorhome pitches. The pitches usually have electricity and water connections. Wi-Fi is often available throughout the site, even if the beach is probably the main reason for many travellers: The leisure facilities at Dutch campsites by the sea have more to offer. Many sites have swimming pools with children's pools, indoor pools when the weather is not playing ball, sports facilities and wellness centres. In the high season in summer, most campsites offer children's entertainment and other leisure activities for older guests. Water sports such as windsurfing and kitesurfing are particularly popular here. You can hire the appropriate equipment at many campsites or learn the first steps in a beginners' course. As the Dutch generally speak German, communication is not a problem.
Your four-legged companion doesn't have to stay at home on a camping holiday on the Dutch coast. The holiday resorts and dog-friendly beaches are perfectly geared towards pet owners. Many campsites allow dogs. From October to April, dogs are allowed to roam free on most beaches. In the high season in summer, dogs are also allowed in many places - but there are certain rules, such as the obligation to keep them on a lead. A popular destination for camping holidaymakers with dogs is the island of Texel, for example. Here, four-legged friends are allowed to run around freely on many beaches and in the Dennenbos and Krimbos forest areas. In Noordwijk there is a dog beach at the coastal section at the end of the Koningin-Astrid-Boulevard. The stretch of beach between pile 47 and pile 36 in the popular holiday resort of Scheveningen is also reserved for dogs. When entering Holland, you must present a valid EU pet passport. The dog must also be vaccinated against rabies and have a microchip.
Holders of the ADAC-Campingcard receive certain discounts at many campsites in Holland. These include, for example, discounts for stays of several days, free use of wellness facilities or other benefits such as free breakfast service or free bike hire. You receive the ADAC Campcard free of charge when you purchase the ADAC camping guide and the ADAC pitch guide as well as the corresponding app for smartphones.
There are many beautiful places on the Dutch coast where you can spend a relaxing camping holiday. Don't miss these highlights.
Renesse is one of the most popular seaside resorts in Holland. One of its main attractions is the wide, sandy beach, which is over 17 kilometres long and perfect for a lovely day by the sea with the whole family. The neighbouring dune landscapes and nature reserves are perfect for walking or cycling. You can also spot seals on the sandbanks off the beach.
The largest North Sea island in Holland is the perfect place for a camping holiday by the sea with its 30 kilometres of sandy beach. But Texel has more to offer than just beach life. The seven beautiful island villages have their own individual charm and are ideal for excursions by bike or on foot. In the far north is the wonderfully photogenic Texel lighthouse on one of the widest beaches on the island. A dream for nature lovers is the nature reserve "De Slufter": the unique lagoon landscape with tidal creeks, salt marshes and flowering plants is regularly flooded by the North Sea and is one of the absolute highlights in Holland.
If you are looking for a real holiday paradise on the beach, you should definitely head to Noordwijk. The 13 km of sandy coastline creates the perfect holiday atmosphere when the wind blows through the dunes, children build their sandcastles and the sea washes colourful shells onto the beach. The beach resort is not only known for its beautiful coastline and opportunities for dune camping, but also for its many beach pavilions. These cosy beach houses right by the sea are home to restaurants and trendy beach clubs. Comfortable sofas on the sheltered terraces invite you to relax. In addition, events and concerts are organised almost every day during the main summer season.
The best time to visit Holland for a beach holiday is between June and August. The warmest months are July and August. Temperatures then average 20 degrees, while the water temperature in the sea is around 19 degrees - the perfect time for swimming. The summer months are the peak season on the Dutch coast. The campsites are correspondingly full. So it's better to play it safe and book your pitch in advance. At PiNCAMP you can reserve many campsites quickly and easily via our booking system.
Of course, you can spend the whole day lazing on the beach and enjoying the sun on the Dutch coast. For active holidaymakers, however, there are many opportunities to spend an eventful holiday away from the beach chair.
Sailing courses are very popular and usually take place in the summer months. Here you will learn the basic principles of sailing, such as rigging the boat, mooring or paddling with a centreboard. The sailing courses usually last 3-4 days and usually cost around 120 euros.
Thanks to the Wadden Sea, the North Sea beaches in Holland are among the most beautiful beaches in northern Europe. You should take advantage of this and experience the fascinating dune landscapes with your own eyes on an extended beach walk. The most beautiful beaches for walking can be found in: - Texel - Noordwijk - Egmond aan Zee - Bergen aan Zee - Zandvoort aan Zee - Bloemendaal aan Zee - Schiermonnikoog - Scheveningen
The island of Texel in North Holland is one of the favourite meeting places for windsurfers and other water sports enthusiasts. The reason: the waves here are a little higher than on the mainland and the constant sea breeze creates perfect conditions for sailing fans and surfers. Stand-up paddlers can also be found on the coast.
Holland is known as the land of cyclists. The campsites by the sea in Noordwijk are the perfect starting point for an extensive cycle tour through the Bollenstreek, the largest flower-growing area in the country. The cycle tour is particularly attractive in spring, when thousands of tulips and other spring flowers are in bloom.
Around 11 kilometres from Noordwijk is the Keukenhof - a unique landscape garden where you can marvel at the Dutch tulip blossom in all its glory. The 32-hectare site features man-made lakes, tulip fields and charming pavilions. The best time to visit the flower park is from mid-March to mid-May, when the tulips are in full bloom.
The island of Texel also offers you the opportunity to get active on foot. The dense Texel forest invites you to go on extended tours. Families like to take a break at the forest playgrounds. An insider tip is the Fonteinsnol observation tower, which offers a breathtaking view of the island. There are also numerous barbecue areas in the De Dennen forest area where you can prepare your own food.
Numerous events on Holland's coast provide variety at any time of year.
King's Day Amsterdam: As in many places in Holland, the King's birthday is also celebrated in the capital on 27 April. Open-air concerts, street markets and party boats on the canals await guests.
Ronde om Texel: Every year in June, water sports fans from all over the world gather for the largest catamaran regatta around Texel. After the start at De Koog, the race covers a distance of 100 kilometres through the North Sea to the cheers of numerous spectators.
Alkmaar evening cheese market: During the summer months, the traditional cheese market in Alkmaar is not only held on Friday mornings, but also on Tuesday evenings. Countless wheels of cheese are stacked at the Waagtoren and there is also a street market.
