One of the most beautiful places for a naturist camping holiday in Austria is Lake Wörthersee. In addition to the enchanting waters in Carinthia, the mountain lakes of Tyrol and Styria invite you to spend relaxing days without clothes on a campsite close to the shore. Such trips can be combined with hiking and cycling excursions through the Alps.
A naturist campsite can be found quickly and easily, especially in the south of Austria. Carinthia is one of the most interesting regions in terms of landscape and culture. The health resorts and holiday communities around Lake Wörthersee are particularly recommended. Top destinations in this region are Villach and Klagenfurt. A great tip for a summer holiday with naturist camping in Austria is the large Sabotnik resort. Guests stay here in a pleasantly secluded location on Keutschacher See to the south of Lake Wörthersee. The ambience is somewhat more pleasant than in the large holiday resorts, especially for naturists. Facilities include a golf course, a beach volleyball court and play areas for children.
Graz in the south of Austria is the second largest city in the country and offers a wide range of cultural activities in its centre. The Kunsthaus am Murufer, the Graz children's museum FRida und freD and the weapons exhibition in the Landeszeughaus are all worth a visit. In the southern part of Graz, naturists can swim and relax naked at Schwarzlsee lake. The site is over 4 hectares in size and offers a 200 metre long and 15 metre wide pebble beach with a sunbathing lawn. If you feel like it, you can take diving, surfing and sailing courses. There is also a children's playground and a paddling pool with a water slide. St. Pölten and the surrounding area in the foothills of the Alps offer an excellent setting for a relaxing naturist holiday in Austria. The Wachau region and the wider Mostviertel region tempt you to go on extensive hiking and cycling tours. In St. Pölten itself, castles such as Ochsenburg, Pottenbrunn and Wasserburg in Renaissance and Baroque style are well worth a visit.
Austria is a true leisure paradise: Alpine peaks, crystal-clear lakes and rivers that meander through narrow valleys offer the best conditions for tours on foot or by bike.
The Austrian Alps in particular are ideal for hiking excursions. From a naturist campsite in Austria you can set off on hiking trails, e.g. through the Tauern mountains or in the Kalkalpen National Park. There are also great excursion routes around the Wilder Kaiser in the north. A somewhat flatter route profile awaits visitors in Salzburger Land, but also in Lower Austria and Styria.
For cycle tours in Austria, it is best to follow Austria's rivers. Excursions along the Danube are popular. The cycle paths lead right through the Mostviertel region to Vienna and the border with Slovakia. In Styria, the Mur Cycle Path with a total distance of around 500 kilometres is recommended. At Bruck an der Mur, it is possible to turn off onto the Mürztal cycle path, which is also well worth a visit.
Sailing is possible on many waters in Austria. One of the top tips is Lake Wörthersee in Carinthia. From Villach and Klagenfurt, you can take to the water by boat and sail along the entire coastline. It is of course possible to book courses or take advantage of guided trips. Alternatively, Lake Attersee, Lake Wolfgangsee and Lake Neusiedl are good destinations for a sailing trip.
Many naturist campsites offer surfing and kitesurfing courses on Austria's lakes. External operators also offer courses. If you are keen and already have experience, you can also simply hire the equipment and conquer the waters on your own.
Natural wonders such as the Krimml Waterfalls and Alpine peaks such as the Grossglockner are a real highlight of a holiday in Austria. These attractions can also be reached by car or motorhome.
Austria offers its visitors many traditional festivals with customs and costumes as well as modern rock concerts.
