Camp Zagreb is an ideal place for nature lovers who don't want to miss out on the proximity and advantages of a big city. On the one hand, the wooded and meadow-rich landscape offers numerous activities in an unspoilt setting, while on the other, the attractive location close to the Croatian capital Zagreb is a delight. This makes it easy to combine a stay in the countryside with a city camping holiday.
With a total area of 1 hectare, Camp Zagreb is a pleasant size. The site is located in the village of Rakitje, in central Croatia. Thanks to the excellent connections to the European motorways E59 and E70, it is easy to get to the campsite and continue on to Zagreb. A public bus stop is just 200 metres away. The Croatian capital, which is 15 km away, fascinates visitors with its two interesting districts of Donji Grad and Gornji Grad, whose differences in altitude are overcome by a cog railway. Back at your holiday home, the idyllic Jezera Rakitje lake invites you to take a refreshing dip. The campsite is open all year round and has 57 pitches with a surface area of between 75 m² and 100 m². Electricity and water connections are available. There are also five rental accommodations that can be booked for two to four people. The stylish bungalows are tastefully furnished and equipped with a private bathroom, kitchen, air conditioning and a terrace. Use of the car park is free of charge. If you want to treat your body and mind to something very special, visit the small in-house wellness oasis with Finnish sauna, salt room and jacuzzi. The hotel also offers a morning bread roll service and the Jezero pizzeria.
Whether on horseback or on a hire bike - the signposted paths around the idyllic lake are perfect for an extensive tour. For mountain bikers, an excursion into the mountain world of the Žumberak Nature Park is well worthwhile. Those who prefer water, on the other hand, can hire a kayak or go licensed fishing. A children's playground rounds off the leisure facilities. Due to its proximity to the Croatian capital, a visit to Zagreb is almost an obligation. The most popular addresses include the Botanical Gardens, the City Museum and Ban Jelačić Square. It is the liveliest place and the most important link between the upper and lower town. Numerous historical and contemporary buildings still characterise the cityscape today. Their architecture ranges from classicism to art nouveau and modernism. Just behind it, the Medvednica Mountains rise up as a popular hiking and skiing area.
