There are not only numerous campsites in the Zagreb region, but also many opportunities for hiking and cycling. Old castles, quaint towns and three wine routes that lead through the region's vineyards make a holiday in southern Europe a very special experience. Of course, a trip to the Croatian capital is also a must.

Special features of camping in Zagreb

Camping in the Zagreb region is certainly not boring! You can get from the campsite to the Croatian capital in no time at all - some even offer shuttle buses. The city of Zagreb has something for everyone. Those interested in culture will get their money's worth at the Croatian National Theatre or the Folklore Museum. A visit to the city's landmark, Zagreb Cathedral, is also a must.

After an eventful day, Maksimir Park, the largest park in southern Europe with many lakes, meadows and a zoological garden, offers time to relax. If you still haven't had enough, you can end the day in one of the many restaurants or bars in the old town centre.

Best time to visit

Most campsites in Zagreb are open all year round and adapt to the needs of travellers. If you like skiing, come to Zagreb in the winter months - the popular Sljeme ski resort is only 20 minutes away from the Croatian capital.

On the other hand, the southern European summer offers pleasantly warm temperatures of up to 30 degrees Celsius, perfect for swimming in one of the region's many lakes. The autumn and spring months are ideal for hiking and cycling in the Croatian vineyards. Whatever time of year you choose, camping in Zagreb is always an experience!
