On the edge of the Dwingelderveld National Park in Drenthe with access to a variety of hiking and cycling trails, the dog-friendly Ardoer Camping Torentjeshoek is ideal for a relaxing holiday for two or with the family.
The campsite, where dogs are also welcome guests, offers numerous spacious pitches, most of which are parcelled out. The pitches are located on a meadow in a large clearing in the forest, some of which have a sparse tree population. The campsite facilities include water and electricity connections, washrooms with washing machines and dryers as well as well-kept sanitary facilities, some of which are barrier-free. WLAN is available free of charge throughout the site. Active campers will enjoy the sports programme on offer, archery and bike hire. Children can enjoy an extensive leisure programme with games afternoons, handicrafts, pottery, a playground, scavenger hunts or baking baguettes together around the campfire. Nevertheless, a peaceful atmosphere prevails during the day and at night. From a culinary point of view, the site's own brasserie caters for guests' every need. During the day, you can enjoy a coffee or soft drink on the terrace, and in the evening around the cosy campfire. The mini shop stocks snacks and drinks as well as a bread roll service, while the Snackhuissie cafeteria is the place to go for a light snack or ice cream during the day. The nearest supermarkets and restaurants are 2 kilometres away in Dwingeloo.

In the surrounding area, Assen, the capital of the Drenthe region, invites you to take a stroll. The picturesque old town with its market, small shops and cosy cafés is perfect for a stroll. Fish restaurants in a maritime ambience beckon at the inland harbour. The village of Dwingeloo, which is closest to the campsite, also has a landmark in the form of the only onion-shaped church tower in the region, which dates back to the 14th century.
