ExceptionalThe west coast of Central Jutland in particular is ideal for camping by the sea. The region fascinates with its dunes and mudflats. Holiday resorts such as Hvide Sande and Bjerregard have some of the best campsites in Central Jutland. In the east of the peninsula, travellers spend their time on the Kattegat, one of the most beautiful sailing areas in the Baltic Sea.
Central Jutland forms the centre of the Danish peninsula of Jutland and impresses with a wide variety of landscape formations. It is above all the coasts that magically attract campers. In the west, the Danish mudflats await holidaymakers. Most campsites here are picturesquely framed by dunes. Small brackish water areas such as Ringköbing Fjord and Nissum Bredning are ideal for beginners' sailing courses and fishing trips.
On the east coast lies Aarhus, one of Denmark's most picturesque harbour towns. The brick-built centre can be explored on a tour. The bay off the coast and the entire Kattegat are among the best sailing areas in Central Jutland. The Djursland peninsula, which juts out into the estuary, is a wonderful place for nature excursions by bike or on horseback.
The months from June to August are ideal for swimming and camping. Temperatures between Ringköbing Fjord and Aarhus reach an average maximum of around 20 to 23 degrees Celsius. The highest temperatures are in July. Then the mercury occasionally even shows more than 23 degrees Celsius.
Travellers can expect temperatures of around 18 degrees Celsius in the North Sea and Baltic Sea at the height of summer. Water sports enthusiasts are also drawn to Central Jutland in May and September. Then it is over 15 degrees Celsius and the wind speeds are ideal for sailing and surfing fun. The advantage of travelling in May is the comparatively low probability of rain.
