Camping in Ramatuelle offers typical Provençal charm, beautiful sandy beaches and the turquoise waters of the famous Côte d'Azur. The pretty coastal town in the hilly hinterland of St. Tropez is the perfect choice for a relaxing camping holiday in the beautiful natural surroundings of the south of France. You'll find the most beautiful pitches at PiNCAMP.
Around Ramatuelle there are a number of great campsites right by the sea or nestled in the beautiful countryside of the Gulf of St Tropez. The following holiday resorts receive many good reviews on PiNCAMP and are among the most popular campsites in Ramatuelle.
The 5-star campsite Yelloh! Village Les Tournels in the hinterland of Saint-Tropez is one of the most beautiful campsites in the Var. The holiday resort near the famous beach of Pampelonne offers pitches in the middle of an old pine forest as well as cosy mobile homes with a view of the sea. The shuttle service takes you directly to the beach. There is also a huge water park with slides and water games. In bad weather, you can simply go to the sauna or the indoor pool. The wide range of leisure activities includes beach volleyball, mini golf, boules, golf, tennis and children's entertainment. You can also hire bikes or scooters and explore the surrounding area. There is also a restaurant, a grocery shop and a launderette on site.
The family-run La Croix du Sud campsite is located right between St-Tropez and Ramatuelle and is the perfect place if you want to escape the hustle and bustle. The small but beautiful holiday resort offers pitches for caravans, motorhomes and tents. If you are travelling without your own camper van, you can stay in the cosy wooden chalets or the fully equipped mobile homes instead. There is a large pool with a jacuzzi right on the campsite, as well as a restaurant and a small shop selling fresh food. In high season, children's entertainment and themed evenings with music and shows are organised daily.
The Ramatuelle campsites are located near some of the most beautiful beaches on the Côte d'Azur. The most famous is certainly Pampelonne beach: the 4.5 km long sandy beach is a favourite destination for sun worshippers and water sports enthusiasts in summer. It is usually just a short walk from the campsites to the beach. Once you arrive, you will also find several beach bars and restaurants. The campsites usually offer pitches with electricity and water connections for motorhomes as well as tent pitches. You can also usually stay in rental accommodation, modern mobile homes or chalets with a wonderful view of the Mediterranean. Some campsites also offer unusual glamping accommodation such as lodge tents or safari tents for those who want something particularly luxurious. The campsites usually also have a small restaurant or a grocery shop where you can buy baguettes and other fresh food. The more popular beaches also have a good infrastructure with beach bars and parasol and sunbed hire. Some places also offer entertainment programmes and children's entertainment - but often only in French. So it won't hurt if you speak a little French. Camping with a dog is generally possible in Ramatuelle. Many campsites allow pets. At PiNCAMP you can always see directly whether dogs are allowed on the pitch and whether there are additional services such as dog showers. However, dog beaches are few and far between on the entire Côte d'Azur. Dogs are also generally not welcome on public beaches. If you are travelling in the low season, your chances of finding an undisturbed spot are better.
You don't come to Ramatuelle for the famous sights, but to relax and enjoy nature and the carefree flair of the south of France. Nevertheless, there is plenty to see around the coastal town.
Ramatuelle is a typical Mediterranean town that is best explored on a stroll through the town. The townscape is characterised by steps, verandas, small squares and narrow alleyways that stretch around the central square "de l'Ormeau". In the winding streets you will find small shops, restaurants and cosy cafés that invite you to linger.
St. Tropez is only a few kilometres away from Ramatuelle and is the perfect destination for a day trip. The famous coastal town is a meeting place for the international jet set and offers a charming mix of white sandy beaches, exclusive restaurants, luxury boutiques and a pretty historic old town. St. Tropez is very busy in the high season, so we recommend travelling without a car.
The Verdon Gorge, which is over 20 kilometres long and up to 700 metres deep, is one of the largest gorges in Europe and is located in the Verdon Nature Park of the same name. The Verdon Gorge is a dream come true for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts: the unspoilt nature is perfect for long hikes and climbing tours. You can also explore some parts of the gorge in white-water kayaks and canoes.
The best way to explore the beautiful area around Ramatuelle is on foot. A beautiful walk leads a few kilometres from Pampellone beach along a narrow path directly on the rocky coast to the idyllic bay "Les Bonne Terrasse a Ramatuelle". On the way, you will pass numerous hidden coves that invite you to swim in the turquoise-blue Mediterranean.
The best time to go camping in Ramatuelle is between June and September. Temperatures rise up to 28 degrees, the water temperature up to 22 degrees - the perfect time for a beach holiday in the Mediterranean. Rain is rather unlikely and only occurs two to four days a month. Summer is the high season with the most holidaymakers. But the low season with the transition months of April/May and October also offers mild weather and temperatures of up to 22 degrees. However, the water temperature is somewhat cooler then and ranges from 13 to 19 degrees. This shouldn't bother sailing fans and active holidaymakers, however, as the winter months in Ramatuelle are comparatively mild. The thermometer drops to a low of eight degrees in January. However, the sun only shines for five to six hours a day and the probability of rain is also higher with six to seven days a month. If you can live with that, Ramatuelle is still suitable for year-round camping.
