The municipality of Rosans in the south of France belongs to the Hautes-Alpes department and is part of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. It is located directly in the Baronnies Provençales Regional Nature Park and boasts unspoilt forests and vast vineyards. The small village is nestled in the southern Alps and makes camping in the mountains a pleasure.
The medieval village of Rosans impresses with its narrow alleyways, where the Roman charm of the past can still be felt today. Those interested in culture will be particularly impressed by the historical sights, such as the Donjon de Rosans, while nature lovers will love the Baronnies Provençales Regional Nature Park. In this park, high-altitude villages are adorned with numerous orchards, olive groves and limestone cliffs. Romanesque village churches and castle ruins are also woven into these idyllic surroundings. Not only those seeking peace and quiet, but also sports enthusiasts get their money's worth here. Hikers and mountain bikers will be impressed by the regional nature park with its many marked tours. The landscape around Rosans is crossed by the rivers Eygues, Buëch and Méouge, which are particularly interesting for fishermen.
Rosans can be reached from Munich in around 850 kilometres. The best route for holidaymakers is via Memmingen, Bregenz, Zurich and Grenoble. First take the A96 motorway heading west, which becomes the A14 in Austria. From the Swiss border, campers follow the A1 motorway via Zurich, Bern and Geneva. Finally, they follow the A41 from France and the A51 at Grenoble. Travellers coming from the north of Germany, for example from Hamburg, can expect a good 1,300 km to Rosans. The shortest route is via Mannheim, Basel and then also via Geneva and Grenoble. Campers from Hamburg or the surrounding area take the A7 southwards, the A5 after Kirchheim and the A67 near Darmstadt. They then take the A6 motorway, which takes them back onto the A5. From Basel, holidaymakers follow the A2 and then the A1 until they reach Geneva. They then continue south via Grenoble. At least one stop is recommended on each of the two routes to stretch your legs. For example, both routes offer the Swiss Lake Geneva, which is perfect for a stroll.
