Cervo in Liguria is quite rightly one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. The almost car-free medieval town is enthroned on a mountain spur above the sea. Families are drawn from the campsite in Cervo to the nearby seaside resort of Alassio, where a fantastic sandy beach awaits. Those travelling to the Cervo campsites with their dog will find picturesque valleys for hiking in the hinterland of Imperia.
Most of the campsites in Cervo are located to the west of the town centre, close to the sea. Families and swimmers can reach the fine sandy beach of Cervo in just a few steps. Water lovers also enjoy travelling to Alassio, 15 km away, where the conditions for surfing are ideal. The bay of Diano Marina, 6 km south of the campsites in Cervo, is also popular with water sports enthusiasts.
If you want to get to the town centre from here, it is about a 5-minute walk. Those interested in culture can visit the baroque church of Giovanni Battista and the town museum in the castle. An interesting trip is to Imperia, which is 10 kilometres from Cervo. Historic villas can be admired here. Imperia is also known as the main centre for olive oil.
The Rivera Liguria is characterised by a mild climate all year round. The temperature fluctuations between summer and winter vary much less than in other parts of the Mediterranean coast. With more than 300 days of sunshine per year, Cervo is a popular year-round destination. As early as March, conditions are ideal for hiking and other outdoor activities.
The bathing season in Cervo starts in June, when the Ligurian Sea warms up to more than 20 degrees Celsius. In July and August, temperatures of 23 degrees Celsius and above are possible. The air is also pleasantly warm, but rarely hot. Even in the low season in September and October, a dip in the sea is pleasant on sunny days.
