Ulcinj's never-ending beaches have the reputation of being a kind of Copacabana of the Balkans. Fine, white sand and dreamy holiday resorts create the best conditions for a camping holiday in Ulcinj. The campsites are mostly located directly on the Adriatic Sea. Those interested in culture will also enjoy the historic town centre with its medieval stone buildings.
The large Velika plaza beach, the small beach and the Ladies Beach are among the most beautiful bathing spots in and around Ulcinj. Many holidaymakers choose to stay at one of the campsites here and enjoy the pleasantly warm Adriatic water. Exciting diving sites await travellers off the coast. Montenegro is also a top destination for sailing and surfing fans.
The rich cultural heritage in the centre is impressive. In Ulcinj, you can stroll through the narrow cobbled streets, visit ancient mosques and churches and admire the massive city walls. A popular holiday destination near Ulcinj is Ada Bojana, an estuary area with kitesurfing spots and beautiful nudist beaches. Numerous leisure activities await holidaymakers on Ada Island.
The bathing season on the Adriatic usually starts at the beginning of June. By then, the outdoor temperatures on the coast are already averaging 28°C. In the midsummer months that follow, the mercury breaks through the 30°C mark. The water in the Mediterranean warms up accordingly and reaches peak values of 25°C - the best conditions for combining camping in Ulcinj with swimming fun. Water sports enthusiasts - especially sailors, surfers and kiters - often opt for the low season. In April, May, September and October, you can take advantage of the stable winds to conquer the waves. In autumn, there are always cool downslope winds, the so-called bora. Water sports enthusiasts should therefore always keep an eye on the weather forecast.
