The Polish voivodeship of Mazovia is characterised by its countless cycling and hiking trails. When camping with children, you can relax and explore the idyllic willow avenues, streams and birch forests of Poland's largest district. Culture lovers can discover the life and traditions of this region steeped in history and, of course, the historical and contemporary Warsaw.

Special features of camping in Mazovia

It's not far from most campsites in Mazovia to the Polish capital. Warsaw is also an experience for children: the interactive Copernicus Science Centre is a real highlight for young travellers! But the Old Town, the Łazienki Palace, the Royal Castle and the Wilanów Palace as well as the Warsaw Uprising Museum also leave a deep impression on visitors.

We also recommend the campsites located directly on the Vistula or in the immediate vicinity of the Gostynin-Włocławek Landscape Park. Here, hikers and cyclists can enjoy many nature reserves with picturesque trails and diverse flora and fauna. In warm weather, several lakes invite the whole family to swim.

Best time to visit

The summer months from June to August are ideal for camping in Mazovia. During this time, the temperatures are pleasantly warm at 23 to 24 degrees Celsius - ideal conditions for visiting the Polish capital or for extensive cycling and hiking tours in Mazovia. The spring and autumn months are somewhat cooler, but all the more beautiful thanks to the intense colours of nature.

The Kampinos National Park is recommended for walks through the colourful foliage in autumn. If you are travelling in December, don't miss the Christmas market in Warsaw's Old Town. Here you will find Polish delicacies, arts and crafts and mulled wine. The sweet or savoury pierogi are particularly popular with children.
