Camping in the Sierra Nevada in Trévelez is located in the south of the mountain range and is the highest campsite in Spain. At 1550 metres above sea level, it is the perfect starting point for mountain tours in the Alpujarras mountain region. The campsite on the north-eastern edge of the Sierra Nevada in Güéjar Sierra is also ideal for exploring the fascinating landscape. If you want to combine a stay in beautiful natural surroundings with a cultural holiday, the campsites in the Sierra Nevada near Granada are just the place for you. The mighty Alhambra fortress is just a few kilometres from the campsite.
Kilma in the Sierra Nevada is characterised by large temperature differences throughout the seasons. In winter, temperatures barely rise above freezing. From December to April, the landscape is covered in a blanket of snow, making the conditions perfect for skiing and winter hiking. In summer, on the other hand, it can get really hot at low altitudes with temperatures of 30 degrees Celsius and above. If you are planning a stay in the mountains, you should always bring a warm jacket, as it can cool down considerably at night, even in the warmest months of July and August. The summer is relatively dry. The ideal time to go hiking is from May to September.
