Thanks to the dense, evergreen forests, hikers and families can breathe in the fresh, aromatic air at 5-star campsites in the Black Forest. In the Ortenau district, for example, you can walk across lush meadows and to clear lakes. Luxury camping in Münstertal offers sightseeing in Freiburg im Breisgau or a day trip for families to the sensational Europapark Rust.
Very close to the tranquil community of Seelbach in Ortenau, the holiday paradise Schwarzwälder Hof invites you to enjoy an unforgettable holiday in the countryside. There is also a hotel on the grounds, whose wellness oasis guests can use free of charge at the 5-star campsite in the Black Forest. In addition to a large sauna area, there is also an indoor and outdoor pool. During the high season in summer, the youngest guests can enjoy the varied entertainment programme. The guided family hikes to romantic mills, the rides on good-natured ponies and the mysterious ruin hike are unforgettable. When the sun isn't shining, families can let off steam in the play barn with its climbing wall and slides.
The campsite in Münstertal is an Eldorado for water lovers. In the heated indoor pool, entertainers invite you to take part in water aerobics. When the weather is fine, swimmers can do their lengths in the well-kept outdoor pool and enjoy the marvellous view of the surrounding Black Forest peaks. The other sports facilities are also outstanding: there is a well-equipped fitness room as well as a tennis court and bikes for hire. A professional personal coach will be happy to help you put together a training programme. The spa, on the other hand, is the perfect place to relax, where those seeking peace and quiet can treat themselves to a chocolate wrap, warm stone or full-body massage. Animal lovers will love the campsite's own riding stable. Riding lessons on the site and rides are available.
Interesting hiking destinations invite you to actively explore the Black Forest. Cultural treasures and attractions for families round off the holiday programme.
From the ADAC Super Campsites in the Black Forest, there are attractive excursion destinations for the whole family. The holiday region is home to Europapark Rust, the most visited holiday park in the German-speaking world. Thrills are guaranteed on the Silver Star rollercoaster or the Blue Fire megacoaster, for example. The youngest visitors can enjoy hours of fun in the fairytale forest, on the adventure playgrounds or on nostalgic carousels. Those interested in culture are drawn to Freiburg im Breisgau. The Gothic cathedral is one of the city's landmarks. From the viewing platform of the tower at a height of 70 metres, visitors can see the city at their feet. A visit to the Alte Wache is also worthwhile. The historic vaulted rooms now house a well-stocked wine shop.
There are numerous family-friendly hiking trails to discover at the 5-star campsite in the Black Forest. From Müllheim, for example, a 3.6-kilometre themed trail leads to historic flour mills. The well-signposted route runs alongside the stream to the Frick Mill, which has an interesting exhibition on the importance of mills from the Middle Ages to the present day. In the north of the Black Forest, the Ortenau Wine Trail, which is around 100 kilometres long, invites you to go on extended tours. The last stage leads over 11 kilometres from Kappelrodeck to Oberkirch. Among the attractions along the route are Rodeck Castle and the charming Waldulm with its numerous half-timbered buildings. Shortly before the stage finish, active travellers can admire a wayside cross erected in thanks for the rich grape harvest. In Oberkirch, those interested in culture can learn about the region's history in the local history and Grimmelshausen museum.
